Apparently I have a blog now. This feels both inevitable and mildly dangerous.
I wanted a place for everything that happens around the work—the ideas that arrive sideways, the characters who refuse to follow instructions, the songs that grow teeth halfway through writing them, and the very glamorous business of rebuilding a chapter because one paragraph looked at me funny.
What lives here
You’ll find notes from the rewrites of How Far the Sky, glimpses into I Am Nine, and dispatches from Half Price Hero. There will be thoughts about writing with AI, because pretending writers aren’t already experimenting with new tools is a charming little historical reenactment.
Stories for anyone who ever had to become themselves the hard way.
Mostly, though, this is a record of making things: imperfectly, stubbornly, and with more heart than good sense. The work is unfinished. So am I. That has never stopped either of us from being interesting.
Welcome to the mess. Keep your shoes where you can reach them.
